Gregory Hines, Judith Jamison, Hinton Battle and Gregg Burge were among the original stellar cast. Act I take us through the early stages of Ellington’s growth as a major musical force, from the Cotton Club era through his travels here and abroad. |

Your Arms To Short To Box With God is based on the Biblical Book of Matthew, with music and lyrics by Alex Bradford and a book by Vinnette Carroll. The entire show is set to gospel music and the story showcases and gives tribute to the music of Gospel legend Alex Bradford, who penned the title song. |
